The Partnership of Microsoft and Nokia is bringing more and more seccess for both companies.With increasing success of Nokia Lumia Smartphones, Microsoft aims to increase the growth of its share and profit in mobile devices through faster innovation and increased creativity.
Microsoft is no longer a software company and is quickly following in the footsteps of Apple and Google (which bought Motorola) by combining software and hardware. Aside from Surface and Xbox this is Microsoft's biggest plunge into device making yet, with the transfer of 32,000 Nokia employees.
On the other hand, Windows Phone is a distant third place to Apple's iOS and Google's Android. Windows Phone has overtaken Black Berry in the standings.
Nokia went all-in with Microsoft with Windows Phone and it seemed clearly that both companies rae sharing their resoyurces and efforts with each other.
Microsoft. Mobile needs to be a cornerstone of Microsoft's business for future success. The failure of Microsoft’s platform-only approach over the last 15 years, initially with Windows Mobile and more recently with Windows Phone, has left it with few alternatives given its almost complete reliance on Nokia for Windows Phone devices. Nokia has always been the main player in the Windows Phone market. Other vendors making Windows Phone handsets alongside Android device, namely Samsung and HTC, have clearly lost interest.
Nokia took the brave step to take on Windows Phone as its main mobile operating system, becoming a key partner for Microsoft in its battle against Apple's iOS and Google's Android. Microsoft planning to move marks a key step towards integration and to accelerate innovation and market adoption for Windows Phones. Microsoft is also looking forward to introdue the next billion customers to Microsoft services via Nokia.
Windows Phone has been the fastest growing mobile operating system recently but that's not so hard when you start at very low figure. Its market share currently sits at low percentage.
Microsoft Windows Phone line needs a boost. The company, which acquired Nokia’s smartphone business for $7.2 billion that it sold 5.8 million Lumia-branded Windows Phones, down from 7.4 million in the same quarter last year.
Now that Microsoft has bought Mobile phone section of Nokia, then Microsoft will be very tough competition for Google and Apple in the market.
